Capnomask™ is a high-performance capnography mask, created to benefit both patients and healthcare providers through its high-quality ergonomic design and focus on preventing post-surgery complications with accurate readings.
Both the Association of Anaesthetists and the American Society of Anaesthesiologists recommend that anaesthetised patients are continually monitored to prevent hypoxia, apnoea or airway obstruction post-surgery. All of which can extend patient stay and accrue costs for unplanned treatments and medications.
Capnomask™ is a specially designed capnography mask that continually monitors patients by measuring their EtCO₂, allowing clinicians to recognise and prevent problems earlier.[1]
PONV is one of the leading causes of patient dissatisfaction post anaesthesia[2]. With only 30% of patients responding to anti-emetics, healthcare providers face delays in patient discharge which increases workload and unnecessary medication costs, all of which can accumulate up to $600 more per patient than the original treatment plan.
Capnomask™ is impregnated with a vanilla scent, which is widely used in aromatherapy to decrease nausea, lower blood pressure and ease anxiety. A study by Houston Methodist Hospital found a 60% reduction in the use of anti-emetic drugs when aromatherapy was used to treat PONV. [3]
Cross-contamination raises the risk of patient infection. Capnomask™ features a specially designed 0.22mm micron filter, allowing for single patient use, decreasing the risks of infection and improving patient care.
Inefficient oxygen masks may leak which can result in patient discomfort and dry eyes. Capnomask™ is ergonomically designed with soft, transparent DEHP-free PVC which fits comfortably on the face with a nose clip to prevent slippage, delivering 40-60% of medium concentration O₂ whilst reducing leakage.
Poorly positioned masks result in inaccurate EtCO₂ readings, decreasing the quality of patient care. Capnomask™ features a unique dual adapter, ideally positioned between the nose and mouth for more accurate EtCO₂ readings.
This capnography mask features a 10ft sampling line, allowing flexibility for multiple environments and a range of equipment set ups. Clinicians will be able to easily use Capnomask™ for different procedures without being restricted.
